Canine Partners

Canine Partners is a registered charity that is dedicated to helping transform the lives of disabled people by partnering them with amazing assistance dogs. Our dogs give our clients greater independence and a better quality of life. We provide our dogs free of charge and they are specially trained to meet each individual's needs and each person's disability. We can support those with even the most complex physical disabilities.

Founded 1990

  • Mission statement

Canine Partners assists people with disabilities to enjoy a greater independence and quality of life and, where possible, to help them back into education and employment, through the provision of specially trained dogs, whose well-being is a key consideration.
Our dogs are trained to help with everyday tasks such as opening and closing doors, loading and unloading the washing machine, pressing buttons and switches, dressing and undressing and raising the alarm in an emergency.
For some people a canine partner can be the difference between being independent and able to get out and about, or feeling worried about leaving home and having to rely on family or carers for support

  • Aims

    Canine Partners aims to:

    • Train life-transforming assistance dogs to provide practical, psychological and social support, including increased independence and confidence, to our disabled clients.
