Most of us would want to be cared for at home if we were dying, close to family and friends, surrounded by the things that we love.
Marie Curie makes this possible for thousands of people every year.
Marie Curie Cancer Care believes that everyone should be able to be cared for, and die, in the place of their choice.
Marie Curie gives people the choice to die at home, close to family and friends and surrounded by the things that they love, rather than in hospital, the place most people would least like to be at the end of their lives. We care for anyone with a terminal illness, including cancer and other illnesses such as dementia or heart disease.
We have over 2,000 Marie Curie Nurses in the UK who provide quality hands on care to patients in their own home, through the night or during the day, along with vital emotional support for them and their families.
We also have 9 Hospices across the UK which are warm, vibrant places at the heart of their communities. Marie Curie Hospices provide in-patient care and day services and work hand in hand with the Marie Curie Nursing service.
Marie Curie is a leader in research into care for people at the end of their lives. We spend over £4 million pounds a year on funding the best research projects, concentrating on how end of life care can be improved.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is passionate about putting patients and families first and all of our services are free of charge.
