The Volunteer Centre, Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire

We aim to make a positive impact on the quality of the volunteering experience for individual for individual volunteers and organisations that work with them. We follow the six core functions of a Volunteer Centre as outlined by Volunteering England. These include: Brokerage Role; Marketing Volunteering; Good Practice Development; Develop Volunteering Opportunities; Policy Response and Campaigning; Strategic Development of Volunteering.
The Volunteer Centre runs several direct servces - Elderfriends and Making Time ( befriending project aimed at reducing social isolation and lonliness in the elderly); Youth Mentoring Scheme (Mentoring project aimed at young people on the verge of isolation from school); Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Volunteering project in which young people design, deliver and manage their own volunteering projects in their own communities).
The Volunteer Centre operates in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire and is has Volunteering England's Quality Accreditation. An Equal Opportunities policy underpins all our work.
