IPSEA (Independent Parental Special Education Advice)

IPSEA is a registered, national charity offering free and independent legally based advice to parents of children with all kinds of special educational needs and/or disabilities across England.

Founded 1983

  • Mission statement

IPSEA helps disadvantaged families by providing a unique range of free and independent services to secure the right education for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

We help children with all types of SEND across England. We help all families that come to use for advice but we are able to offer extra support to the most disadvantaged families.

IPSEA is a volunteer based charity. Many of our volunteer advisers are themselves parents of children with SEN who we have helped in the past.

We use our casework experience to improve local and national SEND policies and practice.

  • Aims

IPSEA (Independent Parental Special Education Advice) aims to:

    • To ensure that all children and young people with all kinds of SEND get the right education - tailored to meet their individual needs.
