Founded 1993

  • Mission statement

We aim to respond to the needs of our community through voluntary action. To provide a range of services including one to one befriending and practical support, along with a Community Transport service using volunteers to assist those unable to access health services in a rural setting and help to other voluntary community groups to run projects in our location.
We act as a bridge between our rural community and opportunities and assistance in the wider community, giving information, signposting and advocacy.
We initiate and operate our own projects to meet identified need in a rural deprivation area.

  • Aims

Presteigne and Norton Community Support and Volunteer Bureau aims to:

    • We aim to be a first point of call for advocacy, support and information within the community on a variety of issues.
    • Provide a Community Transport Service within our rural area which is poorly served by public transport. Local volunteers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed for their mileage.
    • Recruit and place volunteers within other local organisations and charities.
