Home-Start Knowsley

Home-Start Knowsley is a voluntary organisation offering support to local families who are facing difficulty and have at least one child under the age of five. We provide a trained volunteer who offers friendship as well as practical and emotional support. This is done in the family home and enables the family to cope with the pressures they are facing, and can help to reduce any crises.
As well as support and training, room hire, family and community events, and information provision, we are developing strong links with the wider community and encouraging a valuable network of partners and volunteers. Any family in Knowsley with at least one child under the age of five may be referred to us for support if they are going through difficulties.

Home-Start Knowsley volunteers are from all walks of life, of all ages and backgrounds. They bring with them varied skills and experiences. Volunteers need no specific qualifications although we ask that they have some parenting experience and be able to listen with understanding to the needs of the families we support.

Volunteers give a minimum of 3 hours a week of their time for at least a year. Comprehensive training is provided, as well as ongoing support from a Scheme Organiser. For more information please contact us
