Cumbria Deaf Association

Set up over 100 years ago to help the deaf people of what is now known as Cumbria, the charity seeks to help all categories of deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deaf blind people. In order to carry out our mission we run many services that seek to help empower as many of these groups as possible. They include Social workers, BSL training courses, interpreter provision, young deaf people projects, computer training for hard to reach learners and technical aid advise and provision.

With an annual turover of £800,000 we have successfully accessed funding over many years and are currently expanding our services into South West Scotland where Deaf people are without any meaningful provision. Our aim is to carry on proving first class services to our client group who are some of the least priviliged in society.
