The Michael Roberts Charitable Trust (MRCT) supports people who are socially disadvantaged and in crisis through its work with Maybury Open Door, Harlow Foodbank and the Bounty Club

  • Mission statement

    The Michael Roberts Charitable Trust seeks to promote the ABILITY of disabled and disadvantaged people and ENABLE tham to serve the local community in a very positive and practical way promoting integration and inclusion, voluntarily run and manage a community "drop in" Centre - The Maybury Centre Project - and develop skills to enable them to move into paid employment. Each individual is encouraged to develop their skills, self-worth and confidence through an active, planned and structured development programme organised under the Voluntary Assistant Scheme.

    The Michael Roberts Charitable Trust aims to:

    • The aim of Maybury Open Door is to provide opportunities for people to work together to support social need in their community. It promotes the ABILTY of people encouraging them to take an active role
    • Harlow Foodbank provides emergency food for people in crisis in Harlow and the surrounding area working in partnership with front-line care professionals, schools, churches, supermarkets and business.
    • The Bounty Club works in partnership with local fresh food companies by helping them to reduce their food wastage (low dated) and redistributing it for the benefit of the community.
