We currently offer a range of services and resources that are designed to support independence for visually impaired people including Community Services,Low Vison Services,and Day Care Services.
Our aim is to help the 30,000 blind and partially sighted adults and children in the West Midlands to live more independent and fulfilling lives. This includes providing support to adults with sightloss and additional learning and physical disabilites.
This includes offering information, advice, sight assessments, emotional support and practical help to the newly diagnosed and those who are struggling to cope with their sight loss throughout the region.
We also provide a unique day centre and residential homes for visually impaired adults who have additional physical and learning disabilities.
Focus Birmingham is the new name for Birmingham Focus on Blindness
Focus Birmingham aims to:
- Providing services and support directly to people with visual impairments and other disabilities, and their carers, to improve everyday life
- Changing the attitudes and behavior of individuals towards people with visual impairments and other disabilities.
- Working in partnership with other organisations to identify new opportunities to achieve our vision
