Greenwich Foundation for the Old Royal Naval College

The ORNC is the centrepiece of the Maritime Greenwhich World Heritage Site. In the last decade we have completed major buildings refurbishment, restoration of formal landscaping and several conservation projects. We welcome over 1 million visitors a year. Regular activities include maintaining and restoring the buildings and grounds; learning and community engagement schemes; managing public access and facilities; promoting heritage to a wide audience; raising funds and support for our work.

    The Greenwich Foundation for the Old Royal Naval College, which is a registered charity, assumed stewardship of the site after the Royal Navy left in 1998. The objectives of the Foundation are, for the public benefit: (1) to conserve and maintain the Old Royal Naval College site, buildings and monuments; (2) to provide public access; (3) to interpret its historical, architectural, and artistic significance.

    • To preserve, for the benefit of the nation, The Old Royal Naval College Site with regard to its outstanding historical and architectural importance
    • To allow the general public reasonable access to the site
    • To educate the public as to the historical, architectural and artistic importance of its buildings and monuments
