ARTS FOR RECOVERY IN THE COMMUNITY(Arc)

Arc is an arts organisation with a special interest in combatting social exclusion, offering free membership to people with mental health needs. There is space for up to 75 members, many of who are directly involved in the development of the organisation.

At Arc, we affirm the self-worth of everyone in the ARC community.
On that basis we strive collectively, to foster:

The acceptance of responsibility for ARC’s development, by members, staff and trustees

The proactive participation in ARC’s creative activities

Fruitful interaction between members and professionals

Creativity in a wide range of arts practices

High quality services and products, delivered by integrated teams

The widening of social choices available to members

Fuller integration into the communities around us

Good models of practice, adaptable to other settings

Positive images of people recovering from mental illness

On a personal level, at Arc we strive to improve the well-being of members, by building:

Tolerance and respect for other people

Increased self-esteem amongst all our members
