  • Mission statement

The original registered aims with the Charities Commission are listed as the ‘Provision of an open access play facility for young persons of Speke and surrounding areas/integration of young persons with physical/mental health needs, working with inclusion groups’.

The core value of supporting young people from Speke has never faltered and today the Venny provides a free open access play facility for all children aged 8-16 years incorporating a staffed purpose built play centre with play areas, learning rooms, arts and crafts, a chill out zone, adventure play structures, an all weather sports pitch and seasonal activity programmes. The staff are qualified play workers who manage the activities and encourage child led play and learning using an array of methods and approaches, which all fall under the Every Child Matters umbrella:

    • Be Healthy
    • Stay Safe
    • Enjoy and Achieve
    • Economic Well-Being
    • Make a positive contribution

The centre is open 6 days a week, 6 hours a day (apart from Saturday which is open 4 hours) with extended hours during the school holidays. During term time it operates a core service with open free access to all eligible children once registered by their parents.
