We are a disable group which is run by the disabled for the disabled.

Founded 2000

  • Mission statement

    We are a self-help disabled group eg:-blind,deaf,MS,ME,CP,srokes,
    wheelchair users,walking wouned etc.
    Our aims are:
    *To give our families a 10-12 hour rest at a time from caring for us.
    *For us,the disbled,to go out,into and use the community.
    *To learn lifeskills,confident building and be a indepentant as we can be.
    *To have volunteer carers/drivers

    We go out into the community by going:-
    *bowling *pictures *meals *shopping *fundraising *day trips *bingo *zoo
    *training with bolton CVS *we have an allottment. *holiday *etc

    Which learns us:-
    *banking *bookkeeping *paying bills *phoning *reading/writing *counting
    *ordering *grow flowers/veg *etc

    Everyone in the group has a vote and a job to do and we have a meeting
    each week. There is 15-20 member in the group and 10+ volunteers
    which helps us

    good companions bolton aims to:

    • We aim to help disabled to learn the life skills and be more confident to have a more Independent life
    • We aim to give the family carers of the disabled a rest from caring,give advice and be there when needed.
    • We aim to give the jobless work Experince on our huge allotments to learn the skills and confidence towards entering the work plan
