Based in the West Midlands, St Basils is one of the largest agencies in the UK working with young people age 16-25 at risk of homelessness or actually homeless.
St Basils works with over 4,000 young people a year aged 16-25 in Birmingham, Solihull, Sandwell and North Worcestershire to;
Help them find and keep a home
Develop confidence, skills and opportunities
Our prevention services include a Family Mediation service and Schools, Training and Mentoring Project (STAMP), a helpline for Birmingham (Tel: 0300 303 0099) and Advice centre.
We have 27 supported accommodation projects across the West Midlands, incorporating a holistic support service which focuses on the real needs of young people, in an effort to help them develop independent living skills, move on, make a success of their lives and never return to a state where they are at risk of homelessness.
Of the 27, 2 are designated Mother and Baby supported accommodation schemes and 2 emergency accommodation schemes.
In addition we have a private rental scheme giving young people moving on more housing options and 3 supported lodgings schemes providing a half way house to young care leavers aged 16-21 and the opportunity to experience a family environment.
We have extensive Life skills and Learning, Skills and Work programmes, Youth Involvement and leadership opportunities and an apprenticeship scheme.
There are lots of ways people can help us. We have a number of challenges throughout the year including a SleepOut in the winter, summer sponsored walk and a Bake Off in September.
