We offer women and their children suffering domestic violence safe, secure accommodation and a range of other support services including floating support, outreach, and children's services.

  • Mission statement

    Colchester and Tendring Women’s Refuge exists to provide crisis accommodation for women, together with their accompanying children, who have been made homeless as a result of abuse at the hands of their partner.

  • Aims

    Colchester and Tendring Women's Refuge aims to:

    • Widen understanding of domestic abuse and the services the Refuge offers by introducing a set of graded training programmes for in-house and public sector staff.
    • To consolidate partnerships with other statutory and voluntary agencies in order to provide our service users with integrated support services.
    • To continue to provide and enhance Refuge accommodation for women and their children fleeing domestic violence.
    • To continue and expand high quality care and pre-school education for children affected by domestic violence to enable them to achieve the 'Every Child Matters' outcomes.
    • To continue and expand support services for women in the Refuge and at our For Women outreach centre.
