The Peel Institute aims to work with local communities to promote and provide opportunities and facilities for education, recreation, and the advancement of the social, economic, physical and mental well-being of those most in need with the aim of enabling long term sustainable improvements on significant issues affecting their quality of life.
Our strategic aims are: to tackle the barriers which isolate older people and support them to live independently through the provision of appropriate facilities and opportunities for recreation, participation, health improvement, advice and information on local and national services, and targeted care and support; to promote good health, positive citizenship, good judgement and community participation among children and young people by providing a wide variety of stimulating, enjoyable activities and opportunities in a safe environment; to promote access to opportunities and to tackle inequalities affecting some of the most excluded and deprived sections of the community including ethnic minorities; to enhance the employment prospects, education and skills of local disadvantaged young people and adults through targeted advice, guidance and training.
