COMMUNITY MEETING POINT, HARPENDEN

We exist to support and help those adults in our community experiencing severe and long-term mental health problems. We run for five days a week from a Centre easily accessible by public transport. The Day Centre operates for two days: there members can learn daily living skills and enjoy recreational activites. The Training and Business Centre runs for three days a week and provides a non-threatening business atmosphere where members gain skills and confidence in commercial work and I. T..

We are only partly funded by the NHS, having a shortfall of some £55 000 per annum. We have four professional part-time paid staff and about 30 volunteers. We won the Queen's Golden Jubilee Award for Voluntary Service in the Community in 2004.
