Bexley Moorings Project

Bexley Moorings Project provides support to vulnerable young people particularly in respect of emotional and mental health issues.
The work is provided via one to one and group work.
There are four strands to the work:-
CBT,
befriending with the support of volunteers,
a group to aid socialisation
emotional well being support for those in foster care
All support is provided locally and is flexible to meet the needs of the families.

  • Mission statement

    The aim of this Project is to enhance young people's life choices by offering focused support and positive experiences by providing support for young people between the ages of 8 and 17 who normally reside in the London Borough of Bexley. These young people may be in crisis, at risk, supporting others or experincing long term deprivation or problems.

    Moorings recruits and trains volunteers to support these young people in one to one befriending and group activities. Three project staff support in excess of 100 young people at any one time.
