Bolton Lads & Girls Club

Bolton Lads & Girls Club was established in 1889 to meet the needs of local children and we have been providing key services to children and young people in Bolton since then. We do this through partnerships and joint work with a variety of statutory and other voluntary sector organisations together with the goodwill and commitment of local people who volunteer through all our core and project based work. Our Mission Statement: “ To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realise their potential and become happy, responsible and caring citizens”.

More specifically we aim to help all children and young people reach their full potential and to succeed in life through a wide variety of programmes and opportunities designed by our members to meet their needs. This is achieved through a wide range of services including sport, educational and leisure based activities. We also provide intensive support, guidance and training for some of Bolton's most disadvantaged young people through mentoring, one-to-one and group work; services that recognise and respect cultural differences and encourage integration; and inclusive activities that cater fully for young disabled people and young people with learning difficulties. We have 3,438 active members and on average we have over 2,700 visits to the Club each week by young people.
