Hartlepool Mind

Hartlepool Mind established the Mental Health Support Network (MHSN) in April 2002. This innovative project, which offers clients a range of emotional, social and practical support was originally funded by New Deal for Communities, however, it has now secured additional funding from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.

The Mental Health Support Network has continued to offer a practical service, which aims to alleviate the impact of emotional distress in a person’s life. The project offers Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Skills Development Workshops and Courses, and Recovery Support Workers. This approach is grounded in a clear understanding of mental ill health and what is required to overcome any difficulties a person may be experiencing.

As well as the Mental Health Support Network, Hartlepool Mind also run the following projects:

Peoples Access to Health (PATH), social prescribing project for people with long term physical conditions.
Condition Management Programme (CMP)
Advocacy, for mental health and learning disabilities
Carers Support Project for carers and cared for with mental health.
Alcohol Support Service
