SE1 United

SE1 United is a Youth Forum based in Waterloo which works with over 1000 young people aged 11-19 years old a year. Over 80% of our members are from black and ethnic minority backgrounds living in Southwark and Lambeth. We aim to provide young people with a voice in their community, raise aspirations through youth led opportunities and improve the image of young people by celebrating their achievements. We are led by a committee of young people who meet monthly and a board of trustees of which half of the membership are currently young people under 25 years old.
We work with young people to help them reach their potential by setting up their own projects which range from exciting sports days to talent shows to Youth Oskar awards ceremonies. Many young people have learnt valuable skills which have improved their employability and attainment in education. The themes of our activities are sports and health, arts and media, education and training and community safety.
