Friends, Families and Travellers

We are the only national charity working on behalf of all Gypsies and Travellers regardless of ethnicity, culture or background. Gypsies and Travellers.

Founded 1994

  • Mission statement

Our mission is to end racism and discrimination against Gypsies and Travellers, whatever their ethnicity, culture or background, whether settled or mobile, and to protect the right to pursue a nomadic way of life.

Gypsies and Travellers are among the most marginalised and socially excluded groups in the UK today and we are seeking to bring an end to the discrimination and harassment that Gypsies and Travellers experience.

We do this through casework and outreach work with individual clients, families and communities, by campaigning for change at national, regional and local level, and by capacity building to assist mainstream agencies to deliver appropriate and culturally sensitive services to Gypsies and Travellers.

  • Aims

Friends, Families and Travellers aims to:

    • To end racism and discrimination against Gypsies and Travellers, whatever their ethnicity, culture or background, whether settled or mobile, and to protect the right to pursue a nomadic way of life.
