Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme

Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme (LOCSP), since its creation in 1989, has been at the forefront of developing innovative community sports projects in North East London and is today recognised nationally as an exemplar of best practice.

We have

• increased and widened participation across a wide range of sports and physical activity to the diverse communities of Northeast London
• trained and developed individuals and groups so that they themselves are better prepared to run sessions, gain funding and build and develop their services
• developed and delivered on the notion of community ownership with the construction and development of the £12m community SCORE building opened in 2005

LOCSP have established a comprehensive and far reaching programme across North East London. With 20 full time staff, 80+ part time coaching staff and an annual turnover of £1. 1m, we have provided grassroots sports programmes tied to education and training in Barking, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. We have a strong network of partners and funders across a wide range of agencies; local authorities, regeneration agencies, youth offending teams, schools, the Connexions programme, Charitable Trusts and the Home Office.
