We are a registered charity based in Hull but with national coverage helping veterans of desert conflicts, past and current, together with their families by providing support, advocacy and information

  • Mission statement

    Our mission is to enhance and improve the quality of the day-to-day lives of all veterans of desert conflicts and their families through support, Information, advocacy and counselling.

    To provide a safe haven for veterans and their families to be able to talk about the impact their service has had on their lives.

    To educate and provide information for the public and health care professionals to assist and improve the support and health care that is provided for the veterans and their families.

    The services we offer are as follows:

    Welfare and advocacy
    Tribunal representation
    24 hour free phone helpline
    Fact sheets and guides
    The Oasis Times – a quarterly newsletter
    Website – with a members only area
    Members online discussion forum with a private members section
    A Facebook group
    Respite break – A yearly five day respite break for veterans and their families
    Welcome pack for new members
    Counselling
    VIPA – (Veterans Information and Personal Archive) is a bespoke database collating unique information and statistical data regarding veterans from desert conflicts
    The NGVFA attends and organises a number of information and open day events around the country
    Psychological and emotional support

    The National Gulf Veterans & Families Association (NGVFA) aims to:

    • Raise and maintain the Charity's profile and influence on national and local policy across the four nations - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
    • Make a positive difference to the everyday lives of veterans of desert conflicts and their families, partners and carers.
    • Ensure effective governance and management.
    • Ensure a secure financial future.
    • Raise and maintain public and professional awareness of the issues affecting Veterans of desert conflicts and their families, partners and carers.
