Mikron Theatre Company

Mikron is a little theatre company with a reputation for tackling large-scale subjects and turning history into vivid and dramatic entertainment. We present original and accessible live theatre with actor musicians whom also deliver workshops both thought provoking and educational. Using drama to increase the awareness of the general public, including young people, about social, environmental and historical issues including the inland waterways. One of our aims is to nurture new talent and to encourage the developement of skills in theatrical writing, performance and touring theatre management.

We tour by both narrowboat and road. Mikron's narrowboat, Tyseley, was built over 70 years ago as part of the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company's fleet and passed to British Waterways on nationalisation. Every summer for the past 36 years, she has been Mikron Theatre Company's floating home on tour.
