Visiting Arts is the UK's leading intercultural organisation working through the arts. It is an independent registered charity that was established in 1977.

  • Mission statement

    Visiting Arts strengthens intercultural understanding through the arts. We provide information and advice, create opportunites for artists to make new connections and provide training for established and emerging cultural professionals. Our work connects the communities and artists of the UK with those in prioritised countries overseas.

    We work with some of the world's most innovative contemporary artists in programmes that engage and inspire young people, communities and future professionals.

    Visiting Arts works with a range of local, national and international partners and is funded by Creative Scotland, the Arts Council of Wales and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

    Visiting Arts aims to:

    • To provide communities and artists the opportunity to expand their skills and knowledge through participating in creative activity.
    • To create opportunities for artists, cultural professionals and communities to explore new dialogue and creative connections.
    • To enable people to develop better intercultural understanding by providing them with information, intelligence, tools and experience.
