Thornton Rose Riding for the Disabled Group

The primary aim of Thornton Rose Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) is to provide people with disabilities, the opportunity to ride and enjoy all the activities connected with horse riding. Riding for people with a disability is both therapeutic and recreational. Experience has shown that these individuals gain through their contact with horses and ponies a greater sense of achievement and confidence which in turn makes their lives easier and more fulfilled.

Disabled people are quite often unable to find accessible riding facilities or suitable horses for their own specific level of disability, by providing our services we offer the opportunity to ride and ultimately improving their quality of life, reducing social exclusion and increasing their access to leisure facilities.
