Railway Children

Railway Children fight for children living on the streets. We provide protection and opportunity for children with nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to.

Founded 1995

  • Mission statement

Railway Children is an international charity fighting for children living alone and at risk on the streets where they face violence, abuse and exploitation.

Our projects in India, Africa and the UK help secure a safe future for children who have no-one else to turn to and nowhere else to go – we find out what led to them running away and make sure they don’t do it again.

We fight to give these children a voice and make it heard by those that can keep them safe. We won’t stop fighting until no child ever has to live on the streets.

  • Aims

    Railway Children aims to:

    • We race to reach these children first, before an abuser can, and give them safety, shelter and protection.
    • We raise awareness with communities and the public about the issues they face with the aim of changing attitudes and creating a sustainable solution to the problem.
    • We work with industry partners, policymakers and governments to make sure the system changes to give vulnerable children the protection they need in order to secure long-term lasting change.
