Toonspeak Young People's Theatre

Toonspeak Young People’s Theatre is a registered charity, based in the North of Glasgow, Scotland. We provide drama and theatre opportunities and training for young people aged 8 to 25. Young people are at the heart of Toonspeak and make most of the decisions about the company and the artistic work. Toonspeak’s work supports the regeneration of the local area and works to address problems of economic and social exclusion.

    Toonspeak Young People's Theatre aims to:

    • bring participants together with artists who exemplify collaborative practice, providing high quality artistic experiences and deepening people’s engagement with their own creativity
    • facilitate progression for young people
    • help more diverse groups to access and enjoy artistic and creative experiences with a particular focus on under-represented socio-economic groups and cultural backgrounds
    • connect deeply with communities we engage in, fostering cohesion and trust, contributing to community-led initiatives for change.
    • provide resources of the best quality possible to support the vital creative work of participants including information, finance, access to equipment, training, mentoring, inspiration and progression
