Flora locale

To restore wild plants and wild ecosystems to lands and landscapes across the UK, and by this means raise the biodiversity, environmental quality and enjoyment of town and countryside.

Especially by;
promoting the use of native-origin plants (including natural regeneration) in new wildlife,forestry, amenity and landscaping schemes, especially those that help restore and recreate native woodlands, hedgerows and scrub, wildflower grasslands, heath & wetlands;
encouraging the sustainable propagation of native-origin genestock for use in such schemes;
promoting environmentally-sound practices among the plant nursery trade and by plant collectors;
encouraging best practice in the re-creation of native vegetation;
discouraging practices which may result in the establishment of alien and potentially invasive alien species through education of public,professionals and policy makers;
facilitating and promoting applied research into the genetics and ecology of wild plant species used in ecological restoration and of invasive wild plants that threaten native species.
