To set up and manage projects in Hertfordshire that assist disadvantaged young people and their families. Our Ace Project provides support to children aged 5 to 14 years who are experiencing problems at home and at school which lead to them truanting from school. Our experienced project workers provide one to one support to address the issues and help the family back into a normal daily routine and/or to seek advanced help from specific professional agencies.
Our Wheels Community Youth Project provides first steps to learning for 14 to 25 year olds who have disengaged from education and employment. They have few, if any, qualifications and most have basic skills needs. We focus on practical work skills and personal develoment with the aim of progressing the young person onto further training or employment with training.
Our Wheels Mobile Project is a double decker bus which is fitted out as a mobile youth club. It seeks to engage 13 to 17 year olds who 'hang out' on the streets and are at risk of becoming a nuisance locally. Youth workers are employed to build relationships with the young people so that programmes and issues relevant to teenagers can be delivered. These may include drug and alcohol awareness, anti-social behaviour & sexual health.
