The CRUMBS Project

CRUMBS! Workplace training delivered by dedicated staff to vulnerable adults with mental health, learning disability, stabilised addiction & head injury issues seeking paid work and skills for independent living: experiencing workplace conditions throughout their traineeship, and interaction in Crumbs Work Steps Transition to Employment Programme. The Crumbs Project providing time and space for their beneficiaries to develop their abilities.

Founded 1996

  • Mission statement

Our vision is to create self-confident, happy people able to take their place in the Community: positive outcomes through a range of work experience opportunities for access to paid or voluntary work. Help is available on a one-to-one basis: discussing problems, building trust, identifying learning needs, seeking solutions. CRUMBS TRAINING AND FOOD SERVICES HUB is Going for Growth! Newly-established shift-working is allowing Crumbs to increase Trainee and Intern workforces: allowing for literacy and numeracy classes plus WorkStep employment sessions and the hop-on/ hop-off nature of admissions, last year we were involved with more than fifty persons in total. We now seek job-coaches to support both new employees and employers so as to smooth applicant's entry into the workplace.

In the medium term we are planning to 1). Double our beneficiary workforce, offer new and varied experience in food production and all manner of catering information and work to up-skill our beneficiaries for independence. 2). Suitable candidates have the opportunity to progress within Crumbs and join the teaching staff: target 1/3rd of Crumbs Staff Team to be drawn from graduating beneficiaries.

We seek support for Crumbs Vulnerable Adult Employment Fund to enable us to employ our up-graded Catering Assistants to gain a first foot on the employment ladder & willing employers able to offer work trials: please talk to us.
2016: we now employ 4 former trainees in the staff team.
