Charity information

Turn2us (formerly Elizabeth Finn Care)

Turn2us is a national charity that helps people living in extreme financial hardship to gain access to welfare benefits, charitable grants and other support services.

Founded 1897

  • Mission statement

Turn2us exists to help the 13 million people – including 3. 6 million children - living in poverty in the UK today. We believe this is totally unacceptable when over £19 billion in welfare benefits and tax credits are unclaimed annually and charitable funds of £366 million available to people in need are un-awarded.

We help people in financial need access welfare benefits, grants and support services - online, by phone and face to face through partner organisations. We do this via our website and free helpline, and by training other charities’ staff to use our online tools to support their clients. Last year we had nearly 4 million visits to our website and handled 85,000 calls. We also give direct financial support through the Elizabeth Finn Fund and last year provided aid totalling £3 million, benefitting 4600 people.

We fight poverty to help people get back to financial stability so they can turn their lives around and build better futures for themselves and their families.
