Charity information

XTRAX (Young People's Centre)

XTRAX(Young People's Centre) primarily operates as a Drop-In Centre, providing a broad range of services, facilities and support to the area’s key 16-24 disadvantaged young people.

Founded 1994

  • Mission statement

Xtrax was formed as a charity in 1994 in response to a growing need for an independent and confidential service aimed at disaffected young people who were not connecting with the existing health and social provision. The objects of the organisation as set out in its Trust Deed are: -

“To promote the benefit of young people and adults between the ages of sixteen and twenty four within the Hastings and Rother area without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, culture, race, disability, or of political, religious or other opinion through their leisure time activities so to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved”
Xtrax provides a range of projects that have been developed to meet the diverse needs of its client groups. Xtrax prides itself on ‘listening to’ its service users and adapting projects to make Xtrax ‘the place’ where young people feel comfortable, that is an enjoyable and social experience and that addresses the issues that are impacting detrimentally on their lives.
