The Y has been delivering support services with Leicester for nearly 135years. Working predominantly with Young People (YP) aged 16-25, The Y provides;
A high quality supported accommodation with 120 beds each night.
In-house and external education, training and employment opportunities.
Support for the most Complex Needs YP through intensive mentoring.
Accessible Training Flat & Transitions Team.
A full community & commercial theatre & arts programme.
Homeless Support Service for 16yrs plus.

    To be the leading provider of supported accommodation for young adults within the East Midlands. Supporting, empowering and enriching their lives by engaging them in education, employment, training, health services, arts and sports and ultimately ensuring that every homeless Young Adult has rapid access to safe accommodation with personalised support that enables lasting changes in their lives.

    The Y (Leicester YMCA) aims to:

    • To broaden our skills and reach so that more homeless young people can find and keep stable accommodation
    • To create opportunities for the most disadvantaged young people to get educational experiences and achievements
    • To understand and cater for young people‚Äôs holistic health needs
    • To offer greater support to young people with physical and mental disabilities
    • To be non-judgmental towards young people who have offended and offer the chance to change their behaviour
