Forever Hounds Trust
Forever Hounds Trust
Forever Hounds Trust (formerly Greyhound Rescue West of England) is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and homing of sighthounds. We home around 500 of these special dogs every year.
Our vision is a day when every greyhound and lurcher is free from risk or need.
Forever Hounds Trust works to rescue, care for and rehabilitate unwanted, abused or abandoned greyhounds and lurchers, and to home them as pets in permanent, loving homes.
The charity receives no financial help from the greyhound racing industry and is completely reliant on donations. From humble beginnings in the west of England, the charity now operates nationally and finds loving homes for around 500 of these special dogs every year. In 2013 we were named Animal Charity Team of the Year by Petplan and the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes.
Forever Hounds Trust aims to:
- Forever Hounds Trust will provide facilities to rescue and care for unwanted, abused or abandoned greyhounds and lurchers in any part of the country as resources allow.
- Forever Hounds Trust will support the promotion of improved greyhound welfare through our membership of the Greyhound Forum, the Association of Dogs & Cats Homes and any other appropriate body.
- Forever Hounds Trust will provide an ongoing professional and caring service for all dogs taken into our care and placed into pet homes.
