Street Teams works with children and young people at risk of, and affected by, sexual exploitation, grooming and trafficking.
At Street Teams, we support children and young people. We aim to break the cycle of abuse, by helping the young person to fully understand their situation and realise that they are able to make choices. We run various programmes, dependent on the young person’s level of vulnerability and/or emotional damage. There are intensive therapeutic 1:1 support sessions at different levels. In addition, group workshops for five or six young people meet once a week for 10 weeks. These use various methods of engagement to heal and repair, and raise self-esteem, by helping the young people to have goals and aspirations. There are also practical life skill workshops, where we aim to encourage them back into education, and equip them with the skills to keep themselves safe and away from harm.
Street Teams aims to:
- To identify, engage with and support young people at risk of, and affected by, sexual exploitation, grooming and trafficking.
- To raise the awareness of the risks and dangers associated with sexual exploitation grooming and trafficking to children and young people.
