AfriKids believes in the rights of all children, everywhere and that they should be valued, protected and met by all.
We exist to make this the reality for children in northern Ghana, where more than half of all families live in poverty and need our support to give their children the protection, health & education they need to escape poverty for good.
Our work is entirely led by local staff with a simple approach of listening to their communities & empowering them to make sustainable changes.
To ensure that every child in Ghana is afforded his/her rights as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and to do this by building the capacity and resources of local people, organisations and initiatives in such a way that they will be able to continue their efforts independently and sustainably in the future.
Our strategic priorities under this mission are:
Education | Child Protection | Health
AfriKids aims to:
- Ensure every child in northern Ghana has a quality education for the chance to escape poverty and secure a bright future
- Ensure the safety, nurture and protection from harm for every child in northern Ghana
- Ensure good health and well-being for every child in northern Ghana so they can live life to the full
