Asylum Aid enables the most vulnerable asylum seekers to receive the protection they need by receiving high quality, specialist legal advice and representation.

  • Mission statement

    Asylum Aid is an independent, national charity working to secure protection for people seeking refuge in the UK from persecution and human rights abuses abroad.
    The principle aims of Asylum Aid are:
    (i) to provide free, accessible, high quality, legal services to asylum seekers, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable and excluded;
    (ii) to lobby and campaign for an asylum system based on inviolable human rights principles, ensuring that what we say is firmly rooted in the work we do;
    (iii) to work with refugee and other community based organisations, helping to enhance their legal services and learning from their experiences.

    Asylum Aid aims to:

    • To provide free and accessible legal representation, of the highest professional standard, to the most vulnerable and excluded asylum seekers.
    • To lobby and campaign for an asylum process based on inviolable human rights principles, ensuring that what we say is firmly rooted in the work we do.
    • To work co-operatively with our peers, combining and collaborating to strengthen our joint impact.
