  • Mission statement

    As an iniative of people from the local community Wellgate Community Farm came to life in 1982, set up by volunteers, on a 1. 5 acre piece of land previously a builders dumping ground. The project was set up initially to encourage local participation in all aspects of the Farm's activity and to provide invaluable opportunities for individuals and groups to experience a working farm and its animals in an urban environment.

    Over 27 years on, the farm continues to be a growing place and a vital resource for the community. Our work with schools, groups and organisations is continually increasing and the opportunities for employment training, work experience, therapy and recreation are being will utilised.
