Emmaus Bristol

We provide home and work for homeless people and business start up support for those who are disadvantaged.

Founded 1998

  • Mission statement

We give home and work for up to 23 homeless and destitute people in a live-in Community in Bristol. Those who join us are called Companions as it is friendship and support which enables people to move forward in life.

Our work is recycling unwanted household items which we refurbish and re-use for resale to the general public. Our aim is to be self sufficient through our work but need support until that point is reached.

We help those who are disadvantaged start their own businesses as a way into employment and providing a long term future for themselves and others.

A unique feature of Emmaus is that we look outwards to support others in greater need than ourselves. We have supported a water project in Africa, an anti trafficking project in Bosnia as well as other local projects and people.
