Greenwich & Lewisham Young People's Theatre (GLYPT)

GLYPT creates dynamic, innovative and challenging arts and theatre-based activity for, with and by young people. With an established history and reputation for arts and education-based programming our work strives to enrich the lives of its audiences and participants - particularly those with limited access to, and experience of, theatre and the arts.

GLYPT’s Artistic Programme covers four broad areas of work for, with and by young people: Presenting theatrical performances in schools, theatres, and site-specific locations; An extended out-of-school participatory Youth Theatre programme for young people aged 8-21 years including workshops in drama and theatre production, summer arts-based activities, specialised drama workshops for young people with moderate learning difficulties and youth theatre performances; VOICES, a multi-disciplined arts-based programme for young people from abroad, particularly young refugees and asylum seekers; Project work, though largely school-based, includes commissions for government and non-government agencies; research and development for touring productions; and residencies in schools working in partnership with schools, PTA’s and local authorities.
