To provide counselling services for male and female survivors of childhood sexual abuse, their partners and family members throughout Nottinghamshire. To promote the dignity and rights of survivors, offering respectful, skilled and relevant support. To provide training and awareness-raising to the wider community on the profound effects of childhood sexual abuse on both the victim and on society, these include: depression/anxiety, suicide, self-harming behaviour, flashbacks, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, poor self-esteem, relationship difficulties (due to early betrayal), long-term sickness, unemployment and reliance on drugs and/or alcohol to numb emotional pain.
To support and value our counsellors through the provision of training, supervision and the payment of expenses. To strive to secure funding that will allow ISAS to reduce its waiting lists and develop in response to demand.
