Bexley Women’s Aid is a registered charity providing support and refuge to women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

  • Mission statement

    The mission of Bexley Women's Aid is to enable and empower women and children experiencing domestic violence to obtain and sustain a safe living environment. We have been operating in the borough of Bexley for over 30 years. Our services include a women's refuge that houses 26 women and their children, community outreach programmes, children's services, a helpline, and an education and prevention programme.

  • Aims

    Bexley Women's Aid aims to:

    • Recognise and care for the emotional needs of the children living in the refuge
    • Provide temporary refuge for women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse
    • Offer support, advice and advocacy to women living in threatening situations and help reduce the long-term negative effects of abuse
    • Empower women to determine their own future and support them in achieving this
    • Tackle domestic abuse effectively to ensure a future where women and children can live safely in their homes and challenge acceptance of abuse by educating about its devastating effects
