St Giles Trust

St Giles Trust is a UK charity putting experience to work on society`s most complex problems.

Founded 1962

  • Mission statement

St Giles Trust is a charity that uses experience to work on society's most complex problems.

We help people suffering disadvantages such as experiences of prison, homelessness, long term unemployment, addiction, severe poverty and exploitation.

These services are underpinned by people who have overcome similar barriers and are now in the best place to help others do the same. This support from someone who ‘has been there’ is invaluable and life changing.

Our work benefits over 18,000 people every year.

Each generous pound donated to St Giles Trust goes towards helping people that have been locked out of society to make positive changes in their lives.

  • Aims

    St Giles Trust aims to:

    • Find people a safe place to live - we help prison leavers and homeless clients access accommodation. This is the starting point from which all else follows and a key factor in reducing re-offending.
    • Help people to build positive relationships - we support people with re-integrating into society and foster positive relationships with friends, family and other support services.
    • Provide support from someone who's been there - 44% of our staff are ex offenders and 90% of our services are delivered by former service users with 'lived experience' of overcoming disadvantage.
    • Give people something to work for - we assist people with gaining employment and moving closer towards entering the job market.
