The Jessie May Trust

The Jessie May Trust aims to improve quality of life for terminally ill children and their families through the provision of regular, specialist respite-nursing care in their own homes. These children have very complex needs and often require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Jessie May Trust service aims to relieve pressure on parents, improve their coping skills and thus enable terminally ill children and their families to make the most of the precious time they have together. The very best place for a terminally ill child is at home where they feel most comfortable and loved; we aim to enable them to stay there for as long as possible.

Our mission is to work in partnership with families and other agencies to deliver & develop quality respite and palliative care services in the home for all terminally ill children and young people and their families who choose them and who live in our geographical area of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Our vision is of a world in which all children and young people with life limiting conditions are empowered and able to access the support they want for themselves and their families to ensure that they have the very best quality of life possible and to exercise their right to live and to be cared for in their own homes with their families.
