To relieve the effects of childhood sexual abuse through the provision of long-term counselling to both women and men.

Founded 1986

  • Mission statement

Choices is a confidential counselling service for men and women whose lives are affected by childhood sexual abuse. No amount of counselling or support can change the fact that the abuse happened. However it can help survivors to resolve the feelings around the abuse so that they can get on with their lives.

All our counsellors have undergone our specialist training in working with the issues that affect survivors of abuse and all give their time free. The counsellors see an average of 3 clients each on a weekly basis but we have a waiting list of over 100 survivors in the Cambridgeshire area and numbers are growing daily.

  • Aims

    Choices aims to:

    • To provide a confidential counselling service to women and men whose lives have been affected by childhood sexual abuse.
    • To train counsellors to understand the effects of childhood sexual abuse and have confidence to work with this client group.
