Haslingden Community Link and Children's Centre

Haslingden Community Link and Children’s Centre was established in 1998. Their aim is to provide a facility ‘for the common good’ where people of all ages within the community can benefit from a wide range of services.
The Community Services section of Community Link provides facilities where adults can participate in social and recreational events, attend education classes, access health advice and support networks, hold meetings or seminars and have a healthy lunch. With complete disabled access throughout the building, Community Link serves as an ideal venue for support groups. Dysphasia support provides services for people recovering from strokes; IBS Network, those with Irritable Bowel Syndrome; East Lancs Chronic Pain Support Group, people suffering with constant chronic pain.
General health and wellbeing requirements are satisfied with Yoga, Tai Chi, and meetings of Weight Watchers. For those who wish to do something for the benefit of others, visits by The National Blood Service provide ideal opportunities.
Many social and recreational needs have been met including family parties, cultural events. The Wednesday Club provides an entertaining programme of activities on a weekly basis for the senior members of the community.
The Willow Café operates Monday to Thursday. Jigsaw Catering (part of the Trinity Community Partnership (Clitheroe) Ltd ) provide accredited training in catering, for people who have learning difficulties, in a partnership scheme with Accrington and Rossendale College.
The Childcare Services section is committed to providing high quality care which is accessible and affordable to all parents, offering fun and exciting play, care and education, to enable children to reach their full potential
Pre school sessional care and full day nursery care is available for children aged 2 to 4. For ages 5 to 10 attending local primary schools, Breakfast Club, after School Club and Holiday Club facilities are provided.
In January 2006, Haslingden Community Link was officially designated as Children’s Centre and now has a 15 place baby unit, crèche/multi functional area, staff room, and hot desk facilities for use by health, social services, Job Centre Plus and other family support groups.

On a regular basis in excess of 600 people per week are using the facility.
