The Petrus Community is a well established, locally run charity which provides a range of support services for homeless people, including housing and day services.
Petrus exists to assist and support a wide range of people in housing need and aims to develop their skills and, independance and choice by providing good quality support housing and associated services.
Petrus operates 9 supported housing services in the Rochdale and Oldham areas for 74 single women and men in housing need aged 18 plus.
Our day services operated from the Petrus Hub support several hundred individuals a year who are homeless.
Petrus operate a number of social enterprises and this include the Petrus Green Gym, an innovative community gardening service, UniValet an employment and training enterprise involving car valeting scheme operated in partnership with the University of Manchester and the Petrus Community Store, a large scale recycling service which aims to help raise money for the Charities work and help indivduals in need to access clothing and furniture.
Petrus' values are to treat people with dignity and respect and actively engage service users in making decions that affect them and their lives.
The Charity has long-established interest and skills in working with hard to reach groups including rough sleepers, individuals with enduring complex needs and people with unsettled accommodation histories.
