We support people in Chester and Cheshire West who are living with severe and enduring mental illness to build confidence, engage more with the community, and feel hope for the future.
We use one-to-one support, fun and sociable group activities, skills-based training, and voluntary work placements in local businesses.
9 out of 10 people say we helped them improve their mental health and help them to feel hope for the future.
Our support helps vulnerable people to write a new chapter.
We don't believe mental illness should define anyone, or hold them back from achieving their goals.
Our support is empowering, enabling, and enduring. Service-users make friends for life and develop skills and interests that last them well beyond the end of Chapter involvement. In many cases, former service-users continue their engagement after support closure by volunteering and mentoring others with mental illness.
Some of our service-users are suicidal; activities with Chapter give them something else to plan for.
In this way, our community supports people to fulfil their potential in a way they would not otherwise do.
